Actress Iniya has been winning many accolades for her lead role in director Sargunam’s latest directorial venture Vaagai Sooda Vaa (VSV).  The film, which pairs heropposite Vimal, has been lauded by critics, movie-goers and the print and television media for making an earnest attempt to convey the message that nothing is more important than education.

VSV was set in the backdrop of the early seventies and as such, Vimal and Iniya’scostumes, body language, hair styles and dialect had to be altered to suit the script and the mood of the film.  Iniya would have hardly expected that her performance in the film would land a ‘jackpot’ in her kitty.
It now turns out that after watching Iniya’s performance in the film, ace director Bharathiraaja was so impressed that he went ahead and signed her up as the heroine in his upcoming film Annakkodiyum Kodiveeranum.  The film stars Parthiban, writer-director and a protégé of Bharathiraaja and Bhagyaraj, as the hero and actress Meenal plays a very significant role in the film.

Iniya has now been drafted in as the heroine of the film, confirmed Bharathiraaja.  The film’s shooting gets underway in the final week of this month.  Having landed up the offer to star in a Bharathiraaja film very early in her career, Iniya should only hope to improveon her fame and name from here onwards.
